Alexa is again news and if a few days ago we saw how we could make video calls from iOS, Android and Kindle Fire tablets, now more Amazon tablets will be another means to interact with Alexa through voice commands.
It is a feature that was available in the 10-inch tablets (in the Fire HD 10) and now, with a firmware update through, it will be possible to reach the Amazon Kindle Fire 7 and Fire HD 8.
The owners of one of these tablets, which we remember, arrived in 2017, will receive an update that will allow them to be used as a speaker to interact with Alexa remotely.
In order to use this improvement, some requirements must nevertheless be met. On the one hand, the tablet used must be permanently connected to a power source, perhaps because of the high consumption required since it requires constant listening. Is what we can think if we take into account that Amazon warns that even some low power USB ports will not be enough.
On the other hand we must take into account that once the update is released, the benefited models can be used but always in the language of Shakespeare, because Alexa does not offer support for Spanish for now.
The tablets will become an extension of Alexa that through the integrated speakers, you can interact with the user. We do not expect however the same volume of audio and the quality that we can find in the Amazon Echo Show or the Amazon Echo. It is normal because of the logical limitation of size.
It is expected that in a few days the update will be released and begin to reach the owners of one of these tablets. In this way the Amazon market among virtual assistants will take another step to conquer more homes. And that still does not speak Castilian. Fear gives when they implement it.
