This award aims to recognize the progress that cities are making in the implementation of smart cities projects and create a forum in which to share best practices to accelerate developments in the region.
According to the consultant, any organization can propose until June 1 a project that has been implemented, from the cities themselves to solution providers, provincial or state agencies, etc.
As happens throughout the world, European cities have challenges in many different areas to improve their services to the citizen and optimize them, so that they improve the quality of life of the population while they become more sustainable and, according to IDC, They have been at the forefront in applying original approaches and technology to respond to environmental, financial and social problems that impact communities.
With these awards IDC wants to bring to light examples of best practices in urban innovation in which solutions such as cloud, platforms, analytics, IoT or mobile, and data are used, as well as those that have led to partnerships and unique collaborations, new financing models or encouraged citizen participation. The categories in which it is possible to participate are economic development and engagement with the citizen, sustainable urban planning and administration, public safety, sustainable infrastructure and intelligent utilities, and efficient mobility and connected transportation.
